Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026 · applies to RodentFlow for iPhone, version 1.3 and later

In short: RodentFlow does not collect, transmit or share any data. Everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone.

What the app processes

RodentFlow processes, on your iPhone only:

  • videos you choose for analysis;
  • the experiment details you enter, such as animal IDs, groups, sex, phases and notes;
  • values you enter by hand or import from files;
  • the results, tracking data, figures and statistics the app computes from them.

What the app does not do

  • It has no network functions. It does not upload, sync or send anything to the developer or to any server.
  • It has no account, no sign-in and no registration.
  • It contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code or third-party SDKs.
  • It does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone or health data.

You can check this

RodentFlow is open source. Its complete source code is public at github.com/seesaw-earth/RodentFlow, so anyone can verify that it contains no network code. The privacy manifest included in the app (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declares no tracking and no collected data.

Photos and files

  • Photos. Videos are chosen with the system photo picker. RodentFlow receives only the video you select and has no access to the rest of your photo library.
  • Files. Files you choose in the Files picker are read only when you choose them. Results and tracking files are saved in the app's own folder, which you can see in Files › On My iPhone › RodentFlow (see Files & data).

Where your data are stored

All data stay in the app's storage on your iPhone. They are included in your iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) according to your own backup settings, which Apple governs. Data leave the phone only when you share or export them, for example through AirDrop, Mail or Files, and they then go only to the destination you choose.

Deleting your data

Delete individual results in the app, delete folders in the Files app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from the iPhone.

Children

RodentFlow is a tool for research laboratories. It does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. A change that introduced any data collection would be stated clearly here and in the app's release notes before it took effect.
